Hector Rail gets first German six-axle locomotive

Hector Rail has purchased ten used six-axle locomotives for the German market, plus five more as spare parts warehouses. Hector Rail has invested a lot in locomotive refurbishment and the first locomotive is now ready for the first implementation in new building conditions, or perhaps better than new. With this class of locomotives, Hector Rail has a cost-efficient and powerful locomotive to make available to customers on the German market.

Hector Rail puts innovation in everything we do. When the locomotives are refurbished, the tractive effort is increased and an air conditioning system is installed in the cab (not with the first locomotive, but the fleet is equipped with it). This is an important improvement in the locomotives with the expectations of locomotive drivers today.

Three locomotives will be delivered this year and all ten will be delivered before the end of 2017.

The locomotives have six axles, weigh about 118 tons, have an output of 6288 kW and a top speed of 120 km/h. The locomotives are equipped with a high speed engine.
