On September 20, Collicare Logistics and Hector Rail AB signed a three-year contract that begins on October 16. The two companies will work together to connect two remote locations with an efficient and fast new route: "The train runs directly from Italy to Norway and offers the fastest transit time on the market," says Ronny Nordmark, Development Manager at Collicare. Hector Rail will be the traction service provider for Leo Express in passenger transport between Berlin and Stuttgart. Commercial traffic will start on 24 August. Trains will be initialised with four round trips per week from Thursday evening to Monday morning. Leo Express is responsible for the promotion of the trains and is supported by Flixbus. Hector Rail AB has reached an agreement with SCA Skog AB to transport logs to SCA mills and sawmills in northern Sweden, from Sundvall in the south to Pitea in the north, for ten years. As a consequence, Hector Rail will invest in new locomotives that can tow heavy trains, recover power during braking and generate power resistors in and from terminals without chain lines. The wagon fleet will also be replaced by a new generation of wagons with greater loading capacity. Hector Rail and ARS Altmann have agreed that Hector Rail will transport cars from southern Germany. In total, Hector Rail will drive about 600,000 km per year for ARS Altmann. Hector Rail and Samskip agreed on partnership in and around Sweden. From the first of January, six transport journeys per week between Helsingborg in Sweden and Dusiburg, in the Ruhr area in Germany, through Copenhagen in Denmark will be added to the existing operations. Hector Rail and Trätag AB have agreed that Hector Rail will begin to implement the so-called "Trätags concept" at short notice. This means that Hector Rail will transport around 2.5 million cubic meters of logs from various logging terminals to a number of grinding plants in central Sweden. The first trains are expected to arrive in a crowd before Christmas.
