Hector Rail offers traction to "Blue Train" between Gothenburg and Stockholm

Hector Rail has reached an agreement with Skandinaviska Jernbanor to tow the so-called "Blue Train" between Stockholm and Gothenburg. This means that the "Blue Train" will be back on the market from 11 December 2016. The Blue Train is a sought-after passenger train that focuses on the real travel experience with a high level of on-board service and food.

The implementation of the "Blue Train" started on 11 December 2011 and since then has offered a unique start in the Swedish travel industry.

Scandinavian Jernbanor, the company behind the "Blue Train", has decided to hire Hector Rail to be responsible for the final train production including offering the production. Skandinaviska Jernbanor will focus on its core business, travel experience.

"The Blue Train" brings the proud ice rink tradition into the future of the rails. Hector Rails contribution to this is that they use our expertise to ensure production on the rails.

Initially there will be 13 roundtrips per week. Five of them will ride the "Green Train", which, in terms of service, is not so advanced. The number of trains can be increased during the period of the contract, five years.
